When I came across this recipe on YouTube, I had to make them! The fact that they weren’t the traditional jalapeño poppers, really caught my eye. So I decided to make them for a Super Bowl Party on Sunday and they were a hit!!
Ingredients
20 Jalapeños, fresh
8 oz block of Cream Cheese, room temperature
3/4 cup Cheddar Cheese
1.5lbs Hickory Smoked Bacon
Cayenne pepper, Garlic Powder, Onion Powder (optional)
Directions
* Preheat the oven to 375
* Mix together the cream cheese and cheddar in a bowl, season to your liking
* Cut the jalapeños in half lengthwise and remove the seeds/membrane
* Cut bacon strips in half either way
* Stuff each half with the cream cheese mixture, then wrap with bacon
* Place on wire rack over a baking sheet (without the rack they‘ll cook sitting in bacon grease)
* Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the bacon looks brown
* Cool for 5 minutes, then dig in 😉
These are sooooo good! If you want to try a sweet version with bacon, try bacon wrapped dates. They are heavenly!
Ooh I've never thought of using dates before, that sounds wonderful. Thanks for the tip!
